Where does it REALLY come from?
As most of you probably know, parts of Jewish songs are indeed, dare I say it, taken from non-Jewish sources. Of course, the Jewish albums do not give credit to the original composers, and it's up to us astute listeners to realize that something was "taken". I don't know - maybe the reason that proper credit isn't given is because then people would know that it was taken from a non-Jewish source and would not necessarily buy the album. Better just to not tell us, I guess, and have us listen to non-Jewish music thinking it's Jewish.
I'd like to compile as extensive a list as possible of these examples, and this is only possible with the help of readers.
I'll start off the list, in no particular order:
1. Lev Tahor 2, Intro to Asher Boro - the Scorpions, forgot which song
2. Miami Boys Choir One by One, Intro to Elokah - Tower of Power's Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
3. Yehuda Oh Yerushalayim, Umacha low part - Chris de Burgh Beautiful Dreams, The Snows of New York
4. Mordechai Ben David's Yid'n - Dschinghis Khan
5. Piamenta Asher Boro - Men at Work Land Down Under

I'm surprised you're running this, as we just had a long series of these, and more - including Jewish music "stolen" from other Jews - at Blog in Dm, which lasted quite a while until Chaim Rubin got tired, followed by me. So you probably won't be hearing from us - but check out the Blog in Dm discussion on this.

I still thought that it would be interesting to compile a comprehensive list.
Dm had a post recently that had links to clips of the star trek theme and a miami boys theme

Areyeh, since your compiling this list, you should go to BloginDm's past posts on this, and gather what was there, you'll have a nice amount to work with.

How many wedding bands steal some of the licks of "Layla?"
It's one for a wedding band to take a lick, it's another to put an entire section of a song on an album.
Y'know the song "Achdus is our goal, and we'll achieve it...?"
Pretty much any girl who's been to sleepover (or even day-) camp knows it. The tune's from Mary Tyler Moore. My mom was watching it one time, and boy was I shocked!
And the "Look beyond the mountains and the trees" song for Shabbos (Shabbos coronation...ever since Creation...) is taken from somewhere too...sorry, no idea where.
What about the Dedi song that is taken from "Take my breath away"?
Intro riff to Black Hattitude stolen from Nurvana Come as you are.
lev tahor seems particularly enamored with TOTO IV album, borrowing horn arrangements and vocal arrangemets from them
Eli Gerstner's "Me-ein Olam Haba" is from Concrete Blonde's "Joey". I am so glad that you are trying to do this list.
I do not know the actual name of this song or who even sings it, but i did once hear the tune of "b'shetzef ketzef" from Avrumi Flamm, playing in a department store and being sung with different, english words by a woman.
The high part of Shwekey's "Mehairah" is very similar the high part of Elton John's, "Can you feel the love tonight."
The high part of "Horeini Hashem", borrowed by Lev Tahor on their first album from a Jewish female singer, who's name I cannot remember, is quite similar to the high part of Enrique Englesias' "And now that you're gone."
Dedi sings "Ani Ma'amin" TTTO a famous hit by ABBA.
Mordechai Ben David has his version of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat's "Close every door."
"Ki Ze Kol Ha' adom" by Shloimie Dachs is familiarly reminiscent of the "Wheel of Fortune" theme song.
There are definitely many more but those were all I could come up with off the top of my head.
